Special-format LED

Light that takes form.

Curved facades, spheres, ceilings and landmarks. Designed, engineered, installed and kept running by one team.

Corner building, New York

What we do

Not every screen is flat.

For the surfaces a standard screen can't serve. A sphere in an atrium. A ribbon over a terminal. A gateway on a desert highway. Each one needs curved modules, a structure drawn for its site and content mapped to its real geometry. That is the work we take on.

Selected work

Across the United States.

A Chicago atrium, an airport terminal in the Pacific Northwest, a desert highway in the Southwest.

Process

Five steps, one team.

  1. 01

    Concept

Site study, sightlines and form options.

  2. 02

    Previs

Photographic stills and film of the form in place.

  3. 03

    Engineering

Structure, module layout, power, heat and service access.

  4. 04

    Install

Fabrication, assembly on site and calibration.

  5. 05

    Content

Launch content and a program that runs all year.

Technicians fitting curved LED modules to a steel sphere frame in the workshop.

Engineering

The image is the easy part.

What makes a curved surface work sits behind it: module layout, steel, power, heat and access for service. We draw those alongside the visuals, so the form that opens is the form in the previs.

  • Curved-surface mapping

Content mapped to measured geometry, module by module.

  • Custom structure

Steel frames, ribs and suspension points drawn for each site.

  • On-site calibration

Brightness and color matched until the surface reads as one image.

  • Remote monitoring

Temperature, power and signal watched after opening.
